We’re excited to announce the newest way to connect with people in AltspaceVR—the Party Portal. Create a portal, choose an activity, and invite your friends to join. Once you gain interest, everyone is teleported there together.
You’ll see a new icon in your control panel with four arrows pointing toward each other:
When you click the portal button, you’ll have the option to choose between three activities (and counting): Holograms Against Humanity, Video Jukebox, and House Party.
After you choose an activity, the portal will appear in front of you with a gold tether attached. Other people can click the portal and show their interest in joining. Once you’re ready to start, you’ll all be transported to the activity together—no more waiting in an activity for friends to join or coordinating through direct messages.
We hope this feature will make it easier for you to connect with friends, old and new, in AltspaceVR. Give it a try in the campfire today!
